This 1-day, intensive course focuses on several technical aspects affecting extraction and quality of espresso, teaching preventative tasks to reduce the amount of reactive engineering callouts.
You will learn how to safely carry preventative maintenance tasks on espresso machines, grinders, and presses. Understand the connection between espresso recipe and equipment.
We’ll explore real life scenarios and gain hands on experience on how to troubleshoot several examples affecting modern day cafes.
The Preventative Maintenance is the perfect opportunity for experienced baristas to expand your skills and knowledge.
Some of the content covered will include:
- Diagnostic process and pre-inspections
- User error and programming
- The science behind shower screens and filter baskets
- How to replace group gaskets identify restrictions, evaluate equipment and components wear
- Steam assembly maintenance
- Water filters/softeners
- Scales calibrations
- Grinder maintenance and calibrations
